What HighLevel really costs

Updated 2026-09-19

HighLevel publishes three plans, priced from $97 to $497 a month as at September 2026, and that subscription is one of four lines on the real bill. The other three are usage for email, SMS, phone numbers and AI, add-ons priced per sub-account or per location, and the hours someone spends setting the account up. For a single business the subscription is usually the biggest line. For a business that texts a list at volume, or an agency running client accounts, it usually is not.

The four lines on the bill

Subscription. Starter is $97/month or $970/year. Unlimited is $297/month or $2,970/year. Agency Pro is $497/month or $4,970/year. Enterprise is quoted directly with HighLevel. Paying annually changes the monthly equivalent, set out on the annual or monthly page. The three published plans differ on sub-accounts and reselling, not on the core feature set, which the plans page sets out line by line.

Usage. Email, SMS, phone numbers, calls and AI are billed on top of every plan, at rates set by HighLevel and not shown on the pricing page itself. As at September 2026: email is $0.675 per 1,000 sends, SMS is $0.00747 per segment, a local number is $1.15 a month, and outbound calls run $0.0166 a minute. The usage fees page shows the method for turning your own volumes into a monthly figure.

Add-ons. HighLevel sells a list of optional add-ons, most priced per sub-account or per location, covering AI response tiers, a branded client portal, a dedicated sending IP, WhatsApp, SEO and more. A single business on Starter can run for months without buying any of them. An agency should read every add-on price as that figure multiplied by the number of client accounts it applies to. Detail on the add-ons page.

Setup labor. Someone has to build the pipeline, connect the calendar, warm the sending domain and write the first workflow. That is hours, not a line item, whether you spend them yourself or pay someone else to. The DIY-or-hire page sets out what is worth doing yourself and what is worth paying for.

Which line dominates for which business

A consultant or coach running one pipeline and a modest email list will find the subscription is most of the bill, and usage stays small. A local service business that texts booking reminders and runs campaigns to a list will see usage grow, sometimes past the subscription itself, which is why the phone and SMS page exists on its own. An agency running several client sub-accounts will find add-ons are the line that multiplies, because most add-ons are priced per account, not per agency. Anyone who hires the setup out will find labor is the number nobody put on the pricing page, covered on the hidden costs page.

A one-plan worked example

Take a single consultant on Starter at $97 a month. Say the business emails 3,000 contacts twice a month (6,000 sends) and texts 200 appointment reminders. Email costs 6 times $0.675 per 1,000, or about $4.05 a month. SMS at one segment each costs 200 times $0.00747, or about $1.49 a month. Add a local number at $1.15 a month. The usage total is under $7 a month against a $97 subscription, so for this business the subscription is nearly the whole bill. A business sending the same email volume but texting a marketing campaign to 5,000 contacts a month would see the SMS line alone reach roughly $37, and that gap is exactly why usage deserves its own estimate before you commit to a plan.

What decides whether it pays

If the subscription is most of what you would pay, the decision is really the fit test: does the business use enough of what HighLevel replaces to make the move worth the setup. If usage looks likely to exceed the subscription, run your own numbers through the calculator before deciding. If the add-ons you would actually need push the total past what you pay today, the move does not pay yet, and when not to buy may be the more useful page to read next. If you have already decided, start here has the first week's order.

Questions people ask

How much does GoHighLevel cost per month?

The published plans run $97, $297 or $497 a month as at September 2026, or less per month if paid annually. That is the subscription only; usage and any add-ons you choose are separate.

Are there costs beyond the subscription?

Yes. Email, SMS, phone numbers, calls and AI are billed on usage, and a list of add-ons is priced per sub-account. Most single businesses keep both of those lines small.

Is there a cheaper plan?

Starter at $97 a month is the entry plan and covers the core feature set for up to three sub-accounts. There is no lower published tier.

What does a small business actually pay?

For most one-business owners the total is the subscription plus a light usage line: in the worked example above, under $7 a month on top of $97. A business that texts a large list at volume will pay more; the usage fees page shows how to estimate it.

Does the price go up with contacts?

No. Contacts and users are unlimited on every published plan as at September 2026. What scales with volume is usage, billed separately from the subscription.
