Which HighLevel features matter for your business

So the useful question is not which plan unlocks which feature, it is which three or four features your business will actually use every week. The table below scores each feature group as core, useful or safe to ignore, for five kinds of businesses, with a one-line reason for each.

How to read your row

Find your business type and check the column: core means the feature replaces something you likely pay for elsewhere or protects revenue directly; useful means it helps but is not the reason to buy; ignore means most businesses of that type get little from it and can leave it alone without cost. The reasons are written for the business, not for the software, because the same feature can be essential for one owner and dead weight for another.

What the table does not tell you

A feature marked core is not automatically worth the plan price on its own. Weigh the features you have marked core against what you currently pay for those functions separately; that comparison is the is it worth it page. If your one must-have feature turns out to be something HighLevel handles adequately rather than the thing it is built around, a purpose-built tool is the closer fit; that is what when not to buy covers.

Which plan has which features?

Nearly all core product areas, including the CRM, calendars, workflows, courses, payments and the social planner, are available from the Starter plan. The plans differ mainly on sub-accounts, rebilling, API access and reselling, detailed on the plans page.

Does Starter include courses?

Courses, memberships and communities are part of the product rather than a separate paid module, so a single-business Starter account has access to them.

Do I need Unlimited for the API?

Basic API access is included from the Unlimited plan up; Advanced API access requires Agency Pro, as at September 2026.

Which features can I ignore?

That depends on your business type; the table above marks the groups that most businesses of your kind get little from, such as courses for a local service business or reputation management for a course creator with no local footprint.

Are the AI features on every plan?
